Dishonsty
There is an issue I hope to share online at some point that arose with our nursing class regarding academic dishonesty. For the moment, though, I must refrain from commenting any more on it. But, some questions to pose in the "out there" land of lurkers:
Do you thinking nursing students, as a whole, may be dishonest academically? If so, why?
I would think that dishonesty would be more prevalent with the hybrid classes...those classses which have components online.
Also, what are your thoughts regarding the internet being "public domain", meaning...once it is "out there," it is out there for the taling?
What online source does your school use? We use BlackBoard.

I had just graduated from Nursing school in May. I am preparing to take the NCLEX in August and start my new job at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I will be a nurse in the Critical Care Medical Unit.
As for dishonesty. We had students that had stole test right off the instructors desk. We had students taking pictures of test during test review so they could sell them to next semester or next years students. So, who got punished???? The innocent students. To review our test we had to make an appointment and meet our instructor in her office with the door open. You couldn't bring in any notebooks or book bags or even a pencil. Sad isn't it.
The bottom line is .....Do you trust these dishonest people with your LIFE??? Or a loved one.
I found that people were cheating because they didn't want to lose there GPA. A, B, or C=RN.
Our school uses blackboards also.
Thank you so much for this blog! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I read alot of the nursing student blogs so I can see what nursing school is really like. I am starting my undergrad classes for a BSN program this fall. Hopefully I will be accepted. Good luck with your nursing studies and keep posting!! :)
